Papang, OMG, your PC pics!! Yes, hog wild is an American expression, and another I will apply to your PC is Rube Goldberg. That means some device that is seemingly a mess of parts thrown together, and looks like it would never work, but does. Now I understand that a test bench setup is rarely a nice and neat thing, but my OCD, neat-freak way of doing things can't help but laugh. NO offense mi amigo, I have also constructed some truly strange appearing mods for audio equipment, so I do appreciate making something better out of the parts at hand.

Drat, out of time!! More later...

Thanks Prof Jim for the great examples of RG devices. The graphic with the little blue ball-things is great, I'm mesmerized watching them...

Of course, Papang and SolderIron may be insulted now, but I started it.

I just saw a new all in one ASUS PC, the G70 IIRC, that might qualify as a RG device. When the user engages the "Turbo Mode" auto-OC, the sides open up as extra vents for the cooling fans.

You may have started it, but I've rubbed their faces in it.
Save the RG little blue balls animated gif, open the saved file in your image editor and then zoom the moving picture to the full height of your screen.
It sounds like ASUS should rename their AIO PC the RG70.

Ok, picture of my ASR Z77 Ex 4 board with an i7-2600K. There is actually a "mod", or Rube Goldberg device or two in this PC. Prof Jim should recognize something in that PC:

^^That is a disgustingly clean setup.
    Very, very NICE.

HA! Thanks, you're right actually, I've become truly OCD with cable management, and half the battle is having a modular power supply and a case that has a decent amount of room behind the mother board "tray". The only power cable I must have entirely within the case is the video card power cable, and I actually have half of it behind the tray. You know the flat cables used with our SeaSonic Platinum PSU's can be made to almost disappear, but don't look like much otherwise. All the cable action is hidden of course, where it belongs. Plus I really don't have many parts that have wires flying everywhere.

Frankly, I have spent hours over months refining the cable routing, after gaining experience with what works and what does not work. The case is a big factor too, that one has many openings to run cables out of the way. Note that I use the otherwise useless 5.25" drive bays for my drives, with adapters attached to another adapter, to mount the drives. Plus I don't have many in that PC, it has an Antec 3.5" removable drive bay that you can't see besides the SATA cables.

The case itself is large, and is really what I call a box of air...

If you think that is clean, I should post a pic of my Haswell build, no video card, no cards of any kind at all.

You've taken OCD to a new level with an all white interior.
Are you really that paranoid of dust bunnies that you need the white interior so that you can nuke 'em before they grow and multiply?
Is that a triple fan setup for your radiator?
Did you really need to install 5 Delta 250 CFM fans just to kill the dust bunnies and forcibly evict them?
Now that I've had some fun at your expense, the following video is on me, free passes for everyone!!

Did you install a psu and run any wires in your Haswell case?

Wowser profJim! I had never heard of this Rube Goldberg thingamajig. Really mesmerizing to try and follow the flow of movement, hehe. About as subtle as an M.C.Escher painting:all goes back to the beginning or melds into something else. A contest? I suppose it is for those in the Mensa International Club because this is way over my head.

Parsec, you really blew my mind! I insist, this case merits a thread of its own. What did you think of my title for it: "Cable Management Done Right" and so on. Pls. include "incredules". It may not be english but sounds so right, haha. A Corsair H-60 with triple or quad fans? Maybe some out in orbit OCs with that unlocked i7-2600k? No problemas to OC this setup, most definitely.

Really, congrats for an extremely clean layout on this BTX format case. What is it, a Lian Li? Looks like one in which case it is an upper crust case. However I do see a couple of cables without sleeving, yikes! Kidding of course, but I think I see a VIDEO CARD (an EVGA)? It looks so compact that I am not really sure. And it looks so clean, not a bit of dust anywhere. You either spent a while cleaning it up to this great pic or you have fan filters like me to keep everything inside pristine. You could argue that fan filters on my techbench are pointless but I assure everyone that it cuts maintenance in half at least in spite of it being open....and having a couple of cats.

Undoubtedly, if I should ever go back to a case, this is how it should look

    Cheers and Saludos
