Default Color/Gradient Banding with Flicker - ASRock Z77 Extreme 4

I built this computer last summer and it has run perfectly until this issue arose.

So in the last month or so I've noticed color banding, err to be more specific, banding in gradients. And more recently flickering from light sources in games that also produce banding, and most flash videos from streams appear grainy with banding and seem to be pixelated kinda seem to be flickering or refreshing-ish.

For example Diablo 3's Character background for Act 1... The moon's lightsource flickers and banding eminates out of it from the light source.

Also noticed it on Steams background and in Dota 2's chat window and various backgrounds, but after asking around, most people said they get that too...

Still not completely reassured, I started noticing it on various webpages... ESPN's background, EVGA's Website in the dropdown Menu the Black-Gray part, Windows Login/Task Manager background and various other places.

And I don't know if exactly related, or completely different, a few movies I've watched and in some scenes with intense lighting I'll get a blue horizontal glowy type bar shine across the light sources, and occasionally a transparent pale red type artifacty-ish thing, and again I don't know if maybe that's part of the video encode or rip or w/e.

Anyhoo here's what I've done so far to try to figure out what the issue is... All produced roughly the same banding.

    4 Monitors... 2 being of different Make/Models
2, err 3, GPU's counting the onboard Intel4000 I have... Currently using a EVGA 670FTW 2gb, also was issued a RMA(because at first we believed it to be a GPU issue) both produced roughly the same banding.
Clean installed 5 different Nvidia driver versions...
Messed with every single display setting my computer/monitor/everything has... Yes I've made sure it's set on 32bit color.
Messed with every "color management" profile...
3 Different input cables... HDMI/DVI/VGA including 2 different HDMI and DVI cables each.
PSU's voltages are stable and within reason
Comparing to screenshots/webpages with a Mac downstairs...

I'm totally dumbfounded right now... I can't clear this issue up, I have no clue what else could cause "gradient banding" and now this flickering off light sources in games with banding.

I can get the lagom black-white gradients to be "somewhat" smooth, but the really dark side I have my gamma off on the monitor to mask the banding there.

Again this issue is not totally severe but it is INSANELY annoying since I think I've developed OCD from it...

If anyone could give me some suggestions on what is left for me to mess with, or try to figure out... Cause right now, I have no clue.

The EVGA people who I've spent hours upon hours talking to trying to help me are adamant it's my motherboard. And I'm leading towards this as well, since I've literally tried EVERYTHING else.

My system specs if it helps...

Can you test your video card in another computer system?
Can you borrow a different power supply to test with in your system?
Does your video card have the same problems when you try lower screen resolutions such as 1680 x 1050 or 1600 x 1024?

The replacement GPU was sent by EVGA was tested upon return to them and they found no issues, as well as both of them producing the same banding and flickering. As well as my Onboard Intel4000 which the mobo/CPU support, also produces this same banding and flickering. I

The PSU I have was also tested as my previous one was no providing stable adequate +12v, this was resolved when I built the computer. And the new PSU provides proper voltages and has been working fine since.

I have tried multiple resolutions including another monitor's native 1680x1050, and it produces the same issues, as this current monitor's 1920x1080.

I have no other system to test these components myself, but they have been tested recently.

I got that OCD crap I think, so I've tested/troubleshot everything that I could possibly figure could cause this issue. I can't resolve it, and while I'm skeptical that it's a Mobo issue(EVGA are adamant is though), there's nothing possibly left, barring some miraculous software/graphics setting that magically turned on in the last month that caused this.

The problem was originally noticed by me when a monitor I was using produced a blurry dark left side of the screen, and while receiving a replacement and checking for issues(dead pixels, etc) I noticed the banding problem for the first time. I then went through 4 monitors assuming it was the new ones and ruled out the monitors which then started the me testing everything else.

I mean I'm very thorough as I've talked to the EVGA people who make my GPU, I've talked to the Thermaltake people who make my PSU... I would love to try to troubleshoot this to actually pinpoint the problem with the ASRock people but apparently they don't have a phone number or technical support. I emailed them weeks ago and still haven't received a reply. I mean my Mobo is under warranty but I can't get anyone to help me and it's really frustrating, as it seems this problem does seem to be getting progressively worse since the flickering started and originally wasn't there just banding.

Send a private message to ASRock TSD - Emily, provide a link to this thread, and ask her to reply in your thread.
If this problem occurs with stock settings, the only question I have is if your memory kit is on their memory support list.
Does the Crucial website say that they have tested your memory kit with your motherboard?

According to Crucial my memory is indeed compatible since I made sure of that before purchasing it last year, I have also run Memtest to check it as well and it produced no errors. Yes all settings are stock, only thing changed in the BIOS was fan speeds due to them not working automatically on first start up they had to be changed to "Manual" with a target speed.

I didn't mention it in my original post but wanted to add, all temperatures are well within reason this includes both the CPU and the GPU. GPU at idle hovers around 30c and 48-55c under load. CPU temps range from 22-42c depending on load.

Do I just copy/paste that name you gave me to message, and place it under the "recipient" in messages? Sorry, new to this forum.

Yes, you can copy and paste the name into the recipient field when you are composing your PM.
You should also get a drop down box that confirms the name.

You can right click on the name of the thread at the top of the page, then use Copy Link Location, and paste the link in your PM.

I sent a message a few hours ago, not sure if they received it or not. Didn't get a "drop down box" or anything to confirm it though, and I don't want to send the multiple messages if it went through though.

If the recipient's name is incorrect, you can't preview or send a PM.
Give Emily one or two days to reply to you or post in your thread.

I sent a PM to Emily and you will receive a copy of my PM.

You haven't posted what you have for drives, but if HDD, have you erased them ( not formatted ) but zeroed the drives... SSD, secure erased, reload firmware, and reinstalled windows 7 with the 301.10 driver ? check and then switch to the 331.58. I would leave all win generic drivers, ex for the 310.10 and test it, then go 331, then add drivers.

Have you tested the PSU at draw to see the drop in voltage at all rails ?

If the board has a problem, you will be losing the OS on it anyway.

    Dear PabloFajita,

I also think this issue maybe related to GPU or monitor at first.
But you tried to change VGA card or monitor, the symptom still occur.

I suggest you can bring the system to your local dealer and check this issue directly.

    Thank you very much!

    Have a nice day
