What worked for you, flashing the BIOS and/or setting default values, and then doing the PSU procedure?

dragonmag, did you follow step by step that post I linked? It would help us both for future reference knowing just what worked as we both hang out here answering/helping others.
#1 - Please, when seeking help, enter the make and model of ALL parts that your system is comprised of in your Signature, or at least the model #'s in your System Specs, then "Save' it.

#3 - Please use the eXtreme Outer Vision Power Supply Calculator found HERE to determine if it might be your PSU at issue.

This issue drove me crazy. Would reset no problem but on shut down would hang on debug 05 until you hold power button down.

after memtest86+, new windows install, bios updated to 2.9, I thought it was hardware prob like a slot busted then read this thread and tried a jump of bios and it worked. I'm not sure why updating to 2.9 didn't work and reset all setting but the jump did. Shuts down no problem now.

For anybody trying resolve the hang on debug 05 on shutdown. Try the CMOS jump reset first. Good luck.
