Default HELP! Audio only playing out of left channel

Custom built PC with asrock z68 extreme3 gen3 mobo. Win 7 Pro 64.

Running audio through a Sony stereo receiver and can only get the left channel to play. Both channels play correctly when I use headphones.

I re-installed the audio driver downloaded from the appropriate mobo downloads page without success. HELP!!

That is about as vague and confusing as can get. Really.

Where are you headphones plugged in that L and R play? How are you connecting the audio out from the PC to receivers input(s)?

I wasn't trying to be vague, just to the point. I tested both the front and rear audio out ports with the same result and I didn't feel the receiver was the issue because I tested it with my DirecTV system.

I have resolved the problem though, it was a bad aux/rca y cable. I replaced it and now both channels work.

Yea, it looks like we were typing our Q's and A's at the same time there.
