    Default Fatal1ty H87 Performance PCI-E 3.0 Problem

Hello guys i was asking for help and i was brought here so here's the question:
I have the MB in the title and no problem running integrated gpu (HD4600) or 2.0 card (HD6870). I recently upgraded to a MSI r9-270X (which is gen 3.0) and when i plug in the card and boot up the pc it gives me 5 beeps. I tried the card on my friend's pc and works. Today i found that i can run the new video card by setting gen 2.0 in the bios. Amazon says that i can replace the MB with the same one or change the brand. My question is if this issue is an asrock issue or random problem.
    Thanks for help!
PS. The card isn't recognized neither in bios 1.50 nor 1.60

What CPU are you using with your board? What OS are you using, and which video driver?

You know you must use the PCIE2 slot only for a PCI-E 3.0 connection, right?

Do you have an Auto setting for the PCIE2 slot in the BIOS? If so, try that.

Some ASRock boards have issues recognizing new video cards, so I think the board is not defective since it will run your card at PCI-E 2.0 speed.

A moderator should see your post and send a message to ASRock about this, and they might provide a BIOS update for you to try.

Yes i'm using the PCIE2 slot (the upper one). The Auto setting in BIOS was there by default and i had to change to Gen2 to make the video card work, because auto or gen3 gives me 5 beeps at boot.
Btw thank you very much! Do you think that a new H87 Performance will solve the problem or have i to change brand?

For ASRock TSD - Emily to best help, you need to post your full hardware specifications.

We need detailed information about ALL OF THE HARDWARE in your system.

We can best help you after you create a detailed hardware list in the System Specs
portion of your forum profile at the bottom of the profile page or in your forum signature.
Be sure to include brand names and model numbers.
When you are done editing or creating your hardware list, save the settings.

It's the weekend now, but if Emily doesn't reply by this coming Wednesday, you can file an online request at ASRock > Support Request Form
