The nope was in response to wardog's post about the version number being a Microsoft version number of the driver. The Intel graphics driver installation log shows IMO that the "Installer Version", which is but one, is an Intel sourced identifier.

As I said in my previous post, "Regardless, it is possible that the Microsoft packaging of the Intel graphics driver installer caused the Installer Version to be stored instead of the driver version number, wherever Live Update is reading it.

I said possible, since we don't know exactly how Live Update works and what it uses as the driver number. But it certainly appears that the MS modified driver installer puts the wrong version number into whatever Live Update is using to display the driver version.

Since Windows is capable of listing the correct driver version number in Programs and Features when it was installed via a MS update, IMO Live Update could do a better job.
