Thread: AsRock X79 Fata1ty Champion onboard sound issue

  1. #1

Default AsRock X79 Fata1ty Champion onboard sound issue

I've had this board for a while and this issue has been present for some time and AsRock never even bothered fixing it, or if they ever noticed it.

At some point, the onboard sound chip powered by Creative, most likely a Creative issue as I heard another user also experienced this with the same sound chipset on a different motherboard manufacturer, refuses to boot up, causing the device to be disabled or not recognized. Its really annoying and I'm fed up with this issue, nothing seems to fix it unless it randomly re-enables itself when I boot up the computer again, which doesn't always work.

Is there a workaround for this issue?

    hi chrono,

i have the same onboard audio issue right now.. do you mean workaround without add-on sound card?

if this driver or chip issue like you've said I think you don't have another choice than to set up a new add-on sound card. Have you considered to use one?
try to borrow some sound card from your friends, rigged it on your mobo, set the onboard audio on BIOS as disabled and try to see if this issue fix?

Yeah I'm trying to find a workaround that doesn't involve installing another sound card, I'm getting really frustrated that ASRock never bothered fixing this issue.

    hi all
I'm having the same problems with an Asrock Z87 Fatal1ty professional and windows 7 x64. However, I have not experienced any issues with windows 8.1 x64.

Disconnect your PC from the power-cable, wait a few seconds, plug in the power cable again, restart the PC and enjoy the Creative sound again...

It's the only way to go... without another sound card.
