    Default CPU LED=RED cpu or MB Formula OC Z77 - New build

    Received RMA xchange MB Formula OC Z77 from ASRock. connected all.
    I7-2600K
    G.Skill DDr3-2400 Ripjaws-X 16gb (2x8)
    quadro K4000 - video
    1TB OCZ SSD

    RED CPU led - does not post
    Changed cpu with G1610 LGA1155
    Same thing RED cpu led
    The 2600K could be suspect.
    ???? contact ASRock?
    any way to test cpu?

    Better take a close look at the CPU socket, meaning the contacts in the socket. You may need to take a high resolution picture you can zoom in on another PC to check for damage.

    Did you try clearing the BIOS/CMOS with the CPU installed, removing the battery and moving the jumper at the same time?

    If both CPUs don't post, it sounds like something else is wrong. Did you forget to connect the eight pin CPU power cable?

    Is the DR Debug showing/stopping on the same code?

    Well, adding another 2 8GB sticks isn't going to help your diagnosing. Rest assured of that.

    Did it do the same when you assemble only the MB, CPU, and one stick of memory outside of the case?

    that info is just the final specs. I've put this matter on hold for now. Am changing to I7-4930K/ASUS p9X79 combo. Will check bd out of box in a few. thanks for info so far though. I did check all suggestions so far, but no dice.

    Sounds like the board is bad to me, if you are sure the CPUs are fine, which they should be.
