    Default TPM Module

    Hello,

I purchased an ASROCK mobo specifically with a TPM header in order to use BitLocker. Unfortunately I cannot find a 17-pin TPM header. Please advise.

    I have an ASRock Z97E-ITX/ac LGA 1150 Intel Z97

    Thanks

It should be next to the audio connector near the front edge of the board. That's where the manual shows it anyway. or are you saying there isn't a connector where the manual says it supposed to be located?

    Hi,

Actually I'm saying I cannot purchase a TPM module for this board. I can find the header no problem, but nobody seems to sell a 17-pin TPM module.

    Thanks

I know they sell them on ebay as I weighed the cost of buying one vs getting a board with one preinstalled (soldered on so it can't be removed)

I went with the soldered on version for extra security. It was the Asus Q87M-E. A lot of Q-series motherboards will have this feature built-in.

I just looked on ebay and they are for sale by various manufacturers, but I think any one will work on any motherboard. They seem to be under $20.

I found this on the web:

apperently you can buy them only in the Czech Republic, very odd ASROCK modul TPM-S 17pin (COMPOS DISTRIBUTION)
The picture on the Compos Distribution web site shows a 19-pin setup.

I checked the pin descriptions in your motherboard user manual and as expected, the pin names are very different from the from the 19-pin TPM names in the Asus P5Q Premium motherboard user manual.
