    Default FM2A88X-ITX+ MSATA SSD + Raid 5 Array

    Hello

    I want to setup my computer to be a file server + a Media Player under windows 8.1.
    I've got 4 sata hdd and I want to setup them as Raid 5
    The windows system will be installed on M550 msata Hdd

    If I set the hard drive to RAID mode in bios, when I try to install W8.1, I can't see the SSD (Latest Raid driver used) but I can see the Raid 5 Array (who was created in efi shell with "rcadm" command)
    I tried every Bolton raid driver but my SSD never showed up.

    The only working method was to setup the SSD to Raid volume with "rcadm -C -v" command, windows 8.1 found the drive and install corectly but the drive performance was to low (windows set my SSD as a RAID Disk Array in Device Manager).

    I tried with the SSD only, with uefi disable, and still the same problem.

    Is it possible to install w8.1 on a msata SSD with RAID option in bios ?

    Thanks

    Apologize for my english

    Default Re: FM2A88X-ITX+ MSATA SSD + Raid 5 Array

    Finally, after 4 day, everything is working

    What I discover.

    Raid Mode in bios: Only Msata drive --> windows installer didn't found the drive
    Msata + 4 Hdd (On sata 1,2,3,4) --> windows installer didn't found the drive
    Msata + 2 Hdd (On sata 1,2) --> Msata Drive found !!!
    Msata + 4 Hdd (On sata 1,2,5,6) --> Msata Drive found !!!

    Apparently when in RAID mode Msata and Sata 4 isn't compatible.
    It's very strange because at the begining, I install windows in AHCI mode with Msata + the 4 drive in sata 1,2,3,4 and ther was no problem.
    Can someone with the same motherboard confirm the problem (the card was sold as a 7 sata capable).
