Default pc won't boot after ram upgrade

I have a asrock g41m-gs3 and i have bought a kingston pc3-10600 1333mhz 2gb cl9 to make pair with a similar one that i already bought some years ago. What happens is that my computer start's and turns off over and over when the new memory is installed.
Can someone give me a solution for this problem?
    I have:
    500w PSU
    4 hard drives
    Motherboard: asrock g41m-gs3
2gb ddr3 ram kvr1333d3s8n9/2g (working) and the not working is kvr13n9s6/2
    ati radeon hd 4670

Hi Your memory modules are not identical they are similar but if you check the specs they have some differences, when installing 2 memory modules you should buy a matched pair, that's not to say you definately can't get 2 seperately brought modules working but they have to match spec for spec exactly..

From what i noticed the speed, voltage and cl timmings are the same. There are indeed some differences even in the number of chips. Anyway it should work only with the new one and it doesn't...

Can you enter the bios with them both installed? if you can you could try setting the timings manualy, also when switching modules sometimes you need to clear cmos, but I would save a bios profile of your system with the stick that's working first...
Can you list the rest of your system specs, CPU, OS then others may chime in to help you...

with both memories on it won't pass post, on post it detects that is on dual channel mode but only detects 2gb ram. with the new one the pc goes on and off without reaching post.
i cleared cmos with no results.

So no joy hey, Does the good ram module work in both dimm slots have you tried that, if it does the new ram module might be faulty or the Motherboard just don't like it.
Can't think of anything else... And kvr13n9s6/2 is not on the QVL but you probably know that!

No joy for me indeed, yes the old good ram works in both modules. Anyway this morning i went to the store were i bought the ram and while i was explaining the problem the guy told me right away that probably the new ram isn't compatible with the motherboard. It's a bit old.
yeah i noticed it wasn't in the qvl (before i bought it tough) and it wasn't also in the compatible boards on kingston site, but neither the old one... i don't know how reliable this is
    Memory | Search

the old one is discontinued and probably all the others in qvl. Going to e-bay for it feels a bit risky.
Anyway i got my money back, thanks for the help

Well atleast you was able to return the memory hey, the trouble with old ram is if you can still get it they want to charge too much for it, if you can get some cheap on ebay worth a try I have sold sets of memory on ebay myself older than your stuff.
2GB extra on your board will make a big difference IMO,
    good luck!

Yes, the problem is in the US, we don't generally understand how expensive upgrades are for you outside of the US [I do]....
Upgrading very old systems, is not always the best $olution, but sometimes required.
