Default ASRock Z97m micro ATX Thunderbolt

So I imagine no one has any idea what I am asking about and therefore will not expect any but the boldest to answer but heregoes:

I am finishing up a z87 asus deluxe build and will install my thunderbolt EX II dual card there. I am now moving on to a HTPC using Asrock's Z97 Fatal1ty micro atx board. I intend to make storage out of the thunderbolt as well as use it for some other, more esoteric hardware applications via BlackMagic Designs capture. Anyway, anyone tried installing a thunderbolt card on this motherboard? I Googled and searched this forum but no one has any stories to tell.

The only story I can tell you is before you buy any mother board with Thunderbolt support, verify that the Thunderbolt card you have can be used with a Thunderbolt 2 AIC header used on ASRock boards, or whatever Thunderbolt header they are using, there are different types.

The ASRock Fatal1ty Z97M Killer board has a Thunderbolt header, but I would check the manual for details on that header. This board does not have a Thunderbolt add on card support list. The Z97 Extreme 6 board does have this list, but only contains an ASRock and MSI Thunderbolt card.
