Default Will E.C.C. Memory work on non-ECC mother board?

    I have several different Asrock motherboards that support up to 64Gb memory. 4 x 16 GB . I can only find 16Gb ECC modules, no 16Gb Non-ECC. Will the 16Gb ECC work on them?FM2A88X+ Killer990FX Killer990FX Extreme9970 Extreme3 R2.0

ECC memory will work in those boards, as long as the non-ECC portion of the memory is compatible with the memory controller in the processor you are using. That may be the hard part, determining compatibility of the memory in general.

The ECC portion of the memory is additional parts and software, which is not required to run for the memory to work. Usually there is a BIOS option to enable/disable ECC support.

If a board and CPU do not support ECC memory, the ECC portion of the memory is ignored and never used.
