Default Z77 Extreme6 - Sound drops out in the middle of some video streams

I have the Z77 Extreme6 board, but I have started to notice that in the middle of a video clip, my sound drops out. It depends on the video I play; it could be at one Web site, and it could be at another. In one case, the sound dropped out in the middle of a stream from one site, but I still had sound from another stream like YouTube).

Am I starting to lose the sound on my motherboard? Is there a test I can perform to see if my sound chip, or any other chip on the board (let alone the entire board itself), is about to fail? Or could it be a faulty program interfering with my audio driver? I recently upgraded to Win10, only to find that it chopped up some of my software, and I was forced to downgrade back to Win7. I'm thinking the downgrade left more scars than I found, and I will need a clean reinstall of Win7 to see if my board is still in one piece.
