    Exclamation m.2 RAID 0 on x99 Fatal1ty Gaming Professional i7

Is there any possibility of configuring two m.2 NVMe (Samsung 950 EVO) drives in RAID 0 boot on the x99 Fatal1ty Gaming Professional i7 (or Taichi)?

They did it on the Z170 7+

Also I have a i7 6800K (28 PCIe lanes) with a Quadro M4000 (16 lanes) and the two m.2 NVMe drives (4 lanes each). Do I have enough lanes? I am asking because the UEFI is only detecting one of the two m.2 drives.

Please help! :) I cannot wait to install the OS on this build, its been almost a week!

    Thanks,
    S

    Dear moresatish,
This is Michael from ASRock Technical support Team.

Intel Z170 chipset support up to PCIe M.2 RAID because of Intel Rapid Storage Technology 14.
IRST technology supports PCIe M.2 for RAID0/1/5.
For X99 chipset, it doesn’t support PCIe M.2 RAID, so X99 Gaming I7 and Taichi would not be able to use.
If you want to use this function, please refer to Z170 Extreme7+ and Z170 OC Formula for the reference.

There is the limitation about M.2 device:
    * If you install CPU with 28 lanes, the M2_1 only supports SATA type M.2 module.
Thus, M2_1 would not be able to use NVME device if you install I7-6800K.
Please refer to specification from following link:
    ASRock > Fatal1ty X99 Professional Gaming i7

Note: Please install CPU with 40 lanes to use two M.2 NVME device.

    Thank you!

    Have a great day,
    ASRock TSD-Michael

Thank you for the response. Yes, I got six 512 GB SATA SSDs and put them in a raid for media performance. And got a single 512 GB SM961 NVMe for the boot drive.

    Hopefully they will perform. :)

    Best,
    S
