Thread: Asus P8p67 Deluxe rev B3 problem: power button blinks, nothing powers on

I'm glad you figured yours out Louis and got it working.

genoaole, it seems like you've tried just about everything you can. If you have the system in a case, you may want to try bench testing the board as it could be shorting out inside the case. Other than that, I would recommend for you to send the board in for an RMA. Is your board a B2 or B3?

Thanks, the mainboard are out of the case....
Is a revision b3, work for 15 days without problem.
No overclock applyed, no firmware upgrade, ram supported from quality vendor list etc etc....
    I send in rma tomorrow...

Sorry not blink, led in power and reset button go on, but no fans work and no post in bios.
I'm sorry to hear that, mine were blinking. I'm no professionnal when it comes to Asus Motherboards, but if you would have the fan working but no Post, I'd say it might be your CPU not properly in place, your RAM or your video card. You told me you tried everything with those parts and still got nothing right? RMA might be your only option then...:/

Exclamation Re: Asus P8p67 Deluxe rev B3 problem: power button blinks, nothing powers on

    Mason,

I have just registered to let you know I have had this same issue people are experiencing with TWO ASUS P8P67 Pro B3 boards bought from Ebuyer UK around 3 and 5 weeks ago. The first time I could smell a faint burning smell from the motherboard near the mosfet heatsink (although didn't remove it to check).

BOTH times happened after power cuts (one caused by a short in the house). The PC then worked for 20-30 minutes after the outtage and then switched itself off - then dead. The PC was on a surge protected plug and there weren't any thunderstorms etc.

I tried different PSU's, Reset Cmos, Breadboarded etc. to no avail. Just a flicker of the LED's and a small jerk from the fan. If you removed the ATX 12V CPU connector however, the fans would spin, halting on POST with a CPU error (obviously).

Now i've ordered my first ever non-Asus board to hopefully get a working machine. Please let me know if this is a common issue and if there are any other details i can provide you with :)

    Thanks, Ed

I have slightly different problem... on the P8P67 deluxe motherboard there is a power switch and a reset buttion, as you mentioned. My problem is that my system does not boot up from the button on the case. I have to craw under the table and press the power button on the motherboard to get it started. What am I doing wrong?? I thought I hooked up the wires from the power switch on the case to the motherboard correctly. Please help... thanks in advance.

double check that the power/reset front panel switch are properly connected to the mb,its fairly easy if your using the supplied q connector,if its still doing it you might have a faulty front case panel power switch

i would invest in an ups(uninteruptable power supply) then when the power fails it will take over instantly and power down your pc safely,i dont think a surge protector will be enough
