Default Asus N75SL, consistant FPS drops on several softwares

First of all, sorry for the language, I'm still learning it.
I bought a new Asus N75SL a year ago, it worked fine for a while until I noticed huge framerate drops on several softwares that used to be fine (be it games like Far Cry 3, Assassin's Creed 3, Bioshock Infinite[...] or 3D modelling softwares).
I can't even run less requiring games properly, like Portal 2 or the more recent Deadpool, even on low settings.

    A few things I noticed:
-the CPU usage is never maxed out according to the built in resource monitor (doesn't exceed 30% even ingame).
-the FPS drops happen less than 2 minutes in, but if I go back to the desktop for 1 min and jump back ingame, the framerate will be fine for a few seconds before shuttering again.
-the framerate drops even if the temperature is still low (below 55°C).
-GPU-Z gives me an average GPU load between 60 and 70% on most requiring games.

So far, I have tried the following possible solutions yet the issue has not been fixed:
    -set graphics to low
-reset to factory standards (using the F9 shortcut on startup)
-did a clean install of Windows 7
    -updated drivers
-updated BIOS (provided on the ASUS download section)
-opened the laptop and removed the dust + added a ventilated bench
-made sure the softs were using the NVidia card and not the Intel integrated one

I doubt I damaged the hardware, since I never overclocked my CPU.

    Specs, see N75SL - Notebooks & Ultrabooks - ASUS
    •IntelŽ Core™ i7 2670QM/2630QM Processor
    •Windows 7 Home Premium
•DDR3 1333 MHz SDRAM, 2 x SO-DIMM socket for expansion up to 8 GB SDRAM
    •NVIDIAŽ GeForceŽ GT 635M with 2GB DDR3 VRAM
