    There could be a break in comunication between the sound chip and the audio connections (manufacturin' fault) in which case an RMA would be ya only option.

    RMA = Return Merchandise Authorization
    Either contact Gigabyte, http://www.giga-byte.com/Motherboard...viceCenter.htm, or the company that ya purchased it from.

    hey guys

    just wanted to report back to you -
    i solved the issue. turned out that the shmuks who put the box together forgot to put the jumpers into the F_AUDIO slot....
    Found it after going thru the mobo manual and checking the mobo. let that be a lesson to me....
