Hey guys I just wanted to ask on whats the best sound card on the market. Is it the Terratec DMX 6Fire? SoundBlaster Audigy2 ZS Platinum Pro 7.1? or any other one's.??

    Many thanks!

Audigy all the way, but it depends on what kind of system your setting up. Some people wanna do unique speaker setups sometimes and require different features. The Audigy is probably the best sound quality card for the home user right now. I have a 1st gen Audigy, and I love it, never had any problems with it. 5.1 is very nice in EAX games.

Personally I just use my Onboard AC'97, but as for cards, I have heard many different things. Some people swear by the Audigy, others recommend the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz (http://www.turtlebeach.com/site/prod...roducthome.asp) I think its more personal preference then actual quality.

I LOVE my Santa Cruz. It uses the least processor power of all advanced sound cards.

I have a SoundBlaster Live 5.1 on my system and works quite well for Sound CD and DVD videos.

I was wondering about changing to the Hollywood@home 7.1 sound card with the 24 bit system. Would I gain any quality benefits? Remember, I only have 2 speakers that are Labtec and sit beside my monitor.. so does high end cards do any justice to small stero speakers?

I'd personally just get a motherboard that has Soundstorm, better than the original Audigy's but not as good as Audigy 2. For mp3's/dvd's etc its great.
