Yes. Just make sure the cards are about the same specs to. You can run different brands together, but not different models.

I haven't been paying attention, so I may be wrong... Last time I checked, you needed two identical cards to run SLI, not just two cards of the same model. I remember hearing about some advancement that would eventually allow different brands to work together, but I didn't know that anything had come of it.

They came out with a new driver set that allows different brand cards to work together. They still must have the same core, but they can even have different memory (ie. 128MB and a 256MB). What does happen is that it will default to the slower cards speed. I am running 2 7800 GTX cards in SLI, one EVGA and a BFG OC and they work very well together.

Just never try to run a 6800gs with a 6800GT, or a 7800GT with a 7800 GTX and so on.

WOw casecutter, thats a hell of a video card setup you got there! $1000 worth of video cards, lol. You'll make easy work of any current games out there and plenty of future games. I think you need to update your signature!

Thanks. My new PC is still a work in progress. I need to choose different ram and I am waiting for a proper SLI power suppply. Honestly, I spent much more than necessary and I did it mostly because I got excellent deals on the hardware. Two 6800Gs cards in SLI will rock and probably are more than enough as well.

The only problem with the 6800GS is that it could only be around for a limited time, it was released to deal with the other offerings from ATI. Many diffrent sources think that the GS is a short time thing. If it is and you were planning on getting another one then you could be screwed out of your SLI system.

It's quite possible that the 6800GS will be replaced by something from the 7 series, but you will still be able to find them. In general, I recommend against planning for upgrading to SLI.
