Thread: Vid card question?

  1. #1

    Default Vid card question?

Can you hook up the 3pin connector on the card directly to the mobod so the mobod can control the fan speed?

They are not the same connector.

Both are 3pin connectors aren't they?

Is there a gpu that is quieter than the others? Any particular brand?

Both a grounded 110v plug and a 220v outlet are 3-pin as well but they aren't the same. The connectors of the GPU fan that hooks up to the board's PCB and a standard motherboard 3-pin header are different.

And if you're looking for quiet on the video board, then you might look at any number of passive cooling solutions available. These offer decent cooling (on most but high-end video cards) and have no fans... or noise.
