    Default Problems with my moniter

ok, well iv had my computer for under a year, and a couple of months ago, my monitor has been playing up.

I have no idea what manufacturer it is, all it says in control panel is "plug and play monitor", under manufactoroer it just says "standard monitor types".

now i have a problem with it, which is that whenever i run a full screen program, like a game, after about 1-10 minutes of it being up, the moniter will just turn black and say no signal. i ma pretty sure now that the computer is still working, as when it goes black, i cna still hear sounds, like music and my friends on teamspeak.

If i have missed anything out jsut tell me and il give you m ore information. This is really bugging me and i would really appreciate it if you could help me out, thanks.

You could borrow another monitor and see if that solves the problem. I'm betting not. Although i haven't see the problem you describe I would think that the problem is with the video card in the computer itself. My first move would prolly be to open up the case and check for a build up of dust .... if so get some canned air and blast it out. Being as the thing is less than a year old you should have some warranty time left. You may be well advised to find out who does the warranty in your area for your brand of computer.

I agree, that is almost certainly your video card overheating and shutting down. If the monitor was bad, it would shut off when you were surfing the web just as quickly as if you were gaming.

It is also possable that there is a driver or game bug that is doing this. I know that this happened with Age of Empires 3 before I patched it.

Try and figure out if it is just a handfull of programs, or any fullscreen program, or even video.
