Thread: ATI overdrive missing in advanced view

Default ATI overdrive missing in advanced view

I've seen a couple of posts on other sites that said it was because the power connector wasn't attached, but mine is. I just built this computer for my kid and it's identical to mine except for the brand of 4850 card (Visiontek) and the power supply, which is 25 watts different. All the same connectors though. I got it to display one time with the extended desktop (only one display attached ), but I can't reproduce it now. Just trying for the fan fix again. What did I miss?

    Thanks, Owen

You SURE your PSU is up to snuff? Both Power connections connected fully? I ask because some have two

Have you tried driver cleaner to clean and reinstall the drivers? If not try that, it sometimes helps. Even a reinstall without a clean sometimes helps

You don't need overdrive to use the profile method of fixing the fan. In fact, there is nothing in overdrive that will help other than the temp monitor and that will only show you the temps not change them.

ATItool will let you control your fan speeds though, I use it and it is nice.

Let me know if you need a link
