Exclamation Blu Ray Audio problem...Help wanted

    Hi

I have a Dell XPS M1730 with 4gb ram and Dual 8800 GTX graphics card and running Vista SP2

    I have recently installed a Ma****a BD-CMB UJ-120 blu ray drive

The problem now is that whenever I put an original purchased Blu ray movie on the sound stutters (makes crackling noise) all the time, from start to finish. I havent tried with a copy dvd but I asume the outcome is the same :(

I have tried running BD advisor from cyberlink and all is ok.
I use the lastest version of Power Dvd (version 9) and little does it help.

Any genius inhere who can help me sort this out and I would be eternal grateful :)

    Thnx in advance

Well, what sound are you running?

That is the first thing that needs to be discovered. I don't know about newer stuff but on-board has given me issues for HD audio or uncompressed files that it annoyed me to no end so I got a pricey HT Omega sound card lol.

Another thing is not only what your sound processor is, but what drivers are you using, you may be able to fix that with a simple update of your drivers.

    Hi

I found my problem....it was a defective drive.
It would only run in PIO-mode where it should be working in ultra DMA-mode, so I sent the drive back to the supplier for a fix :)

Oops, yeah that'll do it too lol.

Well hopefully they get that drive for you fixed, if not you can always get a ps3 or use that if you have one.
