    Hook it up while the system is off otherwise ya may short something. ;)

    Correct, hook the monitor up while the system is off. I wouldn't advise using the new driver yet.

    Then, as long as you're using a driver that supports the dual monitor setup it should just be going into the Display Settings. You should have (2) monitors displayed with a (1) and a (2) respectively.

    (Side Note: Make sure you have the newer monitor set on the CRT plug and the DVI on the small one. I believe the CRT is the primary on the card you have. If not, try switching it.)

    ...Select the monitor with the (1), which should be your primary monitor, and apply your desired settings. Then select (2) and do the same. There should be a check box when the (2) monitor is selected that will say something like 'Extend Desktop to this monitor'.

    This should work, but I think the we're still not sure about your other monitor being compatible.
