    Hi,
I'm installing a ASUS A7N8X MOBO with onboard sound. My question is this on the back of my CDRW are the usual Analog and digital connections. If I use the onboard sound do I need to use these connections, or will the IDE cable be enough?
This is the first time I have tried using onboard sound, so I have never thought to ask.
    Thanks,
    Al

You'll still need to connect the analog on the back of the CD drive to the CD_IN connector on your motherboard. This is only if you want CD audio to be heard via the onboard card (which is usually the case)
