Just had my first major exam today, practical cabling. Lots of terminating, punching, stripping :D and fanning of cable, seem to have done O.K. :thumb:

Had to terminate and test telephone cable, CAT 5 Enhanced LAN cable, RJ-45 Jacks with an emphasis on neatness and performance. Lots of grounding, using sharp knives on the cable (and each other)

So just checking in to let you people know I'm alive and doing well

    Excellent!
I'm sure all the hard work you've been doing is paying off now:)

We were supposed to do fibre optic this semester, but the guy who was going to teach us (and is accredited) took up a contract on nearly $200/hour - he only gets payed $22/hour at TAFE so it's obvious why he didn't show up :(

Wireless is next semester - and we DEFINATELY have a guru lined up - head of the I.T. Faculty - his house looks like a military command centre

We will be reseaching 802.11, GSM, CDMA, Satellite, Bluetooth and anything else of interest :)

Cool, well maybe by then you will come up with a resonable explanation of why hel$tra won't put up a GSM tower in my home town but they will put up a CDMA tower when there was already good CDMA service in the town.

    That's easy to explain :D

Look at the following map..... the forces are saying "Optus GSM..... Optus GSM..... Optus GSM....."

    Can you feel the power?

    'yes' :D
