Tweaky said he won't answer the phone if you call him... good strategy, I wouldn't want to pay over $1.50/min for an incoming roaming call

Tip for Tweak: Set an unconditional diversion to your Optus voicemail service. Then instead of paying hefty roaming charges in Taiwan, you can simply pay an international call back to Oz to check who called :thumb:

Oh and try to use Chunghwa Telecom - they've got the best coverage in Taiwan

    Here's the network info:

    Operator Name Chunghwa Telecom LDM
    Network Name Chunghwa GSM
    Network Type GSM 900/1800
    Handset Code Chunghwa
    Network Code 466 92
    Network Status Live July 1995

So when you get there, if your handset doesn't come up with "Chunghwa" automatically, try and force it in the Phone Setup menu on your 8250. If that fails, the network will come up as "466-92" - just like in Australia Optus comes up with 505-02 ;)

why not just go over there and buy a pre-paid phone, then you don't have to worry about international roaming
