    LOL:laugh: Sorry WS, I never gave you a thought.
    (Oops, digging myself in deeper now):(

    When I first arrived at my duty station in West Germany (yeah, kids there were two of them back then) we had to take a basic german course.
    Most GI's never cared to learn or use more than; "Eine bier bitte.".
    I did attempt to go beyond that a bit - though I do not claim to speak Deutsche.
    I used that phrase; "Christina fahrt ubermorgen nacht Bonn." whenever I got in over my head. Just say that - smile - and walk away.

    Translation; Christina left for Bonn last night.

    For some reason that phrase just stuck in my mind from the classes:D

    Here's one everyone will like;

    Frau Ober - bier fur alles!

    I found that written dutch looks a lot like German, which made it pretty easy to read signs and such. Once you hear the words spoken, they don't sound anything like they are written. At least not to me.:p :wave:

    I might be wrong, Mr. C., but I think "ubermorgen" is day after tomorrow. I think you meant: Christina fahrt gestern nach Bonn.

    Ich mag Deutschland. I habe zweimal besucht. Das dunkleweiss bier ist sehr gut. I habe viele freunde dort. Ich mochte bald weider besuchen.
