    Sounds good to me.
    The Harvester Project
Its a scheme to get those nasty spammers to spam themselves.
Sounds feasible to me, what do you think?
Can this be done effectively, because I'm seriously considering setting up a few pages for bot bait.

Give the linked page a read and let me know what you think.

Especially if those pages contained addies of other mailin' houses. :D

They could SPAM each other then.

You should submit that to the fellow who came up with the idea!

I wonder though, if they had specific addresses such as that, couldn't they program the bots to ignore the page entirely:?:

This project to me seems sound in theory, I'm thinking it wouldn't be difficult to participate just for fun.

Hidden pages would be a violation of my free web space, but a person could always put in a "don't bother to click here" link perhaps. Not that my ISP might even notice some hidden pages - or maybe I underestimate the amount of atention they are paying to things?

Most of us have a bit of web space, I have 3Mb free ATM. It would be nice if I put it to some possible good use.

Actually, I did post this for a dual purpose:)

First, to pick your brains and see if folks thought this might actually work.

and secondly, if it does seem reasonable, in the hopes that others might want to participate.

A good number of folks here do make some use of their "free" web space or whatever, and if we could each post a few pages with a dozen or so addresses we could really make a nice contribution to those spammers we all love so dearly.
