We used to visit a friend that knew just how to crack a snake like a whip Beefy.

Around my parts it's nothing unusual to have Brown Snakes or Red Belly Black Snakes.

One time I had a brownie in the house that slithered across my feet when I was walking up the hallway, called W.I.R.E.S so they could come and catch the thing, but after 2 hours of searching they couldn't find it and announced they were leaving....like hell I said, your not going anywhere without that snake. Anyway they ended up finding the snake a short time later the snake ending up hidden between a internal sliding door and the wall cavity inbetween the bedroom and bathroom. I don't think I would have slept real well if they didn't find it.
Hence they left with the snake.
*wiped sweet from the old brow that day I'm telling you*

Apartly they only come inside to find water. So during summer if you live near bushy out-crops you should leave a dish of water down the backyard, at least that way the snake gets his drink and hopefully leaves without you ever knowing it was there in the first place.

We leave the spiders alone (when possible) so that they can eat the billions of flies and mozzies. ;)

Very interesting thread...Until I moved recently, I lived within 20 meters of a lake that had a baby alligator, maybe half a meter long. Now I live along a canal with perhaps many more, larger gators.

Been a while - I'll have to visit my Ozzie friends here more often and grab a pint or

Gesh here in Florida.... we have everything... In some cases a Masqeto (spell check lol) that are deadly! They carry this desease around with them!!
I remember once fishing with my parents when I was a kid and catching fish and putting them in a metal basket that you leave in the water.... there was a mokasen (spell check again) its a snake and its poisonous... my dad got his gun and shot the snake and then gave us kids a lesson.... he got out his knife and cute the snake right down the middle and inside the snake was some of the fish we had caught. It was gross but educational lol

We get the wonders of if you swim in fresh water dealing with Gators... in the ocean Sharks and baracudas

Once i was walking along the shore and a baracuda jumped up and hit my arm.. left a bruse from my elbo to my hand... he seen my ring on my finger as it was shinning and thought it was a fish it could of been worst since they have teeth as sharp as a razor blade.
