Last night i decided to re-install my system so that it would be a bit neater than what it was.

once i had re-wired my fronts and 7x10s i went about re-wiring my sub.

however..... i had left my h/u on by accident. it was quite happily playing a test tone cd..... rather loud.

now, while i had my head in my boot tightening a few screws on my amp, i accidently crossed the +ve power wire onto the Remote Power terminal. This sent about 200W into my sub which at the time was right next to my head. 40hz@200W in a 12" is loud, especially when it is rifght next to your head.

18hrs later and i still have very minimal hearing in my left ear and a rather bad headache.....

damn that was a stupid thing to do...

Your very lucky then you silly buggar. You don't realise just how important sight or sound is until you do damage it.

Outch! Sorry to hear that man i'll hope ya be ok. :(

Kinda reminds me of an incident a friend of me had once a
couple of years back. We had been out partying in another nearby town and on our way home in my car my friend fell a sleep
in the backseat due to all the bear he had been drinking.

His head was resting just about 30-40 cm away from my
12" Cerwin Vega sub that pumped almost peak to peak
with LOUD and heavy techno. I was almost asleep in the front passenger seat and another man was driving, sober of course.

His head wasn't all to good the day after. Luckey ******* has not to mutch damage today though...
Heavy sound is really cool but it can be pretty dangerous to... :(

*thinks back to old AT powered pc.......*

got done atleast 3 times by that switch+ metal screwdriver

oh and there was that time with short circuiting the sub amp (say 600w@ 8 ohms (it was clipping)) with a screwdriver (weirdest electric shock ever)
