Well, after reading 19 pages on TT's Cancer Research team, I decided to go ahead and download the bugger and join the team.

Hope it helps out. Right now its running on an P3 800, and is soon to be running on a P3 600EB and an Athlon XP 1800+.

And that's Cancer research.. Not Anthrax.. ATM. I'm in the U.S. Army, and I'd prefer that the world I'm trying to protect not come to a sudden end simply because someone developed a new type of Anthrax. There are much more glorious ways to end up.

    To Mr. C,

I realize you were angry when you found out about UD's unfair practice of forcing all members to participate in their Anthrax research project. I took was ticked off when I discovered it, thats what I get for actually reading the monthly newsletter I guess.:D

But as I stated in the other thread [the one where you announce your resignation], there are many other worthy distributed computing projects out there for you to donate your unused CPU cycles to if you are so inclined.

Parabon Corporation has a project going on @: http://www.computeagainstcancer.org/ or http://www.parabon.com

When I signed up for UD I made a decision between the 2, I chose UD because of their affiliation with Intel. I had never heard of Parabon so I went with a more familiar name. Maybe that was a mistake.

Also Stanford university has a few interesting distributed computing projects as well: Folding@Home & Genome@Home, while they aren't directing their research at cancer alone they are looking at how certain drugs will interact with certain cells which might help find a cure for some other dreaded disease.

I guess what I'm trying to say is keep up the fight against cancer anyway you can. ;)

I applaud your decision Raven...... Biological, Chemical and Nuclear weapons are terrible things that have the potential to inflict death, pain and suffering on millions of innocent people - it's not just the other side's army that gets destroyed :(
