THE BOARD IS IN A GIGABYTE 8IK1100. I GOT THE CPU FROM A WHOLESALER, THEY WERE AVAILABLE FOR A SHORT TIME AT THE END OF JANUARY. IF YOU WANT A PRE RELEASE ONE, I BELIEVE I HAVE SEEN A FEW ON EBAY. I AM REALLY NOT SURE WHY MY SCORES ARE SO LOW THEN. I HAD JUST PUT THE RADEON 9800XT IN TODAY, AND WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE SCORE. I DO HAVE TO ADMIT THAT MY CPU IS RUNNING REALLY HOT THOUGH. COULD THAT HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT? IT RUNS ABOUT 50 DEGREES CELCIUS FULL LOAD WITH THERMALTAKE AQUARIUS II AS A CPU COOLER. IM THINKING THAT BECAUSE THE RADIATOR OF THE WATERCOOLER SITS INSIDE OF THE CASE, THAT IT ISNT REALLY GETTING COOL AIR TO COOL THE WATER WITH. MAYBE THAT IS WHY IT ISNT COOLING PROPERLY, AND IN TURN ISNT PRODUCING ASTOUNDING SCORES. MY KNOWLEDGE WITH THE TWEAKING ASPECT IS VERY LIMITED AS WELL. I KNOW HOW TO BUILD THE PC, ANYTHING AFTER THAT IS TRIAL AND ERROR FOR ME NOW, SO ANY SUGGESTIONS YOU HAVE WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED.

Oh yeah. ANd RAM timings....does 2.5 3 3 8 sound right? It isnt very good RAM. Its corsair value select ram. 1gig (2x512mb) PC3200 Dual channel ram. Is there something I can do with the timings to make it preform better? If so how? Do not know much about the RAM Timings either.

FISTICUFFS: Prescotts don't, and won't give u better performance compared to Northwoods, at least not until SSE3-optimized apps are out and the higher clocked ones are out (read the Anandtech article about this).
And YES, they are hotter than Northwoods (more power dissipation, eg. the 2.8C (Northwood) pulls about 70W and 2.8E (Prescott) pulls around 90W)

But once u can handle the heat problem, u can start OCing it and (maybe) shoot the star :) , since it was made using the 9nm tech, giving so much headroom clock-wise.

but still :thumb:  that u could get one so early

From all the indications I have seen so far, they are on-par with the Northwoods in 3DMark2001.

You can edit RAM timings in the BIOS. 2-2-2-5 is the fastest you can hope for, but you will likely not be able to run it.

    Absolute max for this setup.

Basically 21k with a Canterwood board, wish I had PAT...

Yeah basically what I did was combined everything I learned from benching my 5900 and applied it when I threw in the Ti4400, and was immediately able to get a max score out of it. Too bad it doesn't clock higher though.
