Smpr-Fi, you do realize that new games will still be playable without DX9 card support? Lots of us are using cards that only really support DX7 and playing all of todays' current games. The Ti4200 will still out perform the FX5200 by a large margin (speed wise) as Wiggo has pointed out. The true DX9 cards will show a bit of added eye candy but as I've seen it explained on other sites: "what good is all of the eye candy if your game plays like a slideshow?"

My 2 cents: With your setup you should be able to play anything on the market today (I still can with my system). If your card will do all that you need it to do today then use it untill it won't. By the time you've saved up enough coin to buy a better card then there will prolly be games that you need it for. If you are planning on building a "cutting edge" gamer system then you are going to need a much bigger budget and in reality someone else will still have a better system. Do what you can with what you have and don't worry about the benchmarks.

Disclaimer: Others can and will have different opinions and are welcome to them. I've been proven wrong more than once .:p :p

The 5200 is slower than an MX440.

The Ultra is a "lot" faster. It is around $135 US.

The 5200 regular is crippled by a 64bit memory interface, the Ultra is increased to 128bit.

    FX 5200 : 6.4GB/s
    FX 5200 Ultra : 10.4GB/s

It also comes with significantly higher clock speeds. Can't recall off the top of my head.

I was scoring around 10,000 with my 5200 and it was only a little better than my geforce 3 ti 200...

I bought a 5900 Ultra and MAN let me tell you... I bench at around 16,000 with no cheating defaults settings...

Sell your on ebay and step up you will thank me...
