Intel Australia is calling for all PC Modders to enter the Intel PC Mod Challenge to find the most creative and professional custom-made PC in Australia. Entrants will have the opportunity to win a PC featuring the latest IntelŪ PentiumŪ 4 Processor with Hyper-Threading (HT) Technology** at 3.2 GHz and Intel 865 chipset.

Entries for the Intel PC Mod Challenge are now open and the top 8 finalists will be showcased and judged at the Australian finals of the World Cyber Games (WCG) over the weekend, August 30th-31st at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour.

The WCG is the 'Olympics' of online gaming designed to build an eSports culture. Sponsored by Intel Australia and Samsung Electronics, the national WCG finals will bring together 88 tournament competitors who have won their way through to be named state champions. The national champions will go on to compete against competitors from 55 other nations at the WCG Finals October 12-18, in Seoul, Korea.

To be eligible for the Intel Challenge, the PCs entered must be a fully functional modified design, and incorporate an Intel Pentium 4 processor. Representatives from Intel and the media will judge entries on their creativity, technical skill, performance and functionality.

To participate, entrants must send sufficient photographs to demonstrate the features of their modified PC including the P4 CPU to 'The Intel PC Mod Challenge' (details below), along with a one-page description of their project including unique features, the processor used and why a high-performance processor enhances the value of the mod design. Each photo should include a clearly legible handwritten placard stating "Intel PC Mod Challenge", the entrants name and the date.

How come the UK never seem to have anything like this? Mind you they probably hold competions like this all the time and I'm never aware of it
