    but by plugging into the headphone socket, wouldn't it mute the sound from the speakers

    No, since I have a 5.1 sound card I used a double adaptor at the back at the computer. Not the front sound ports.
    As the double adaptor doesn't by-pass so it doesn't cut off sound to the speakers.

    I have a soundblaster live 5.1 so that should work then to, cool. Thanks heaps for that

    Very sweet, I didn't think of putting it where you have, didn't think it would fit, I'll do it that way instead. Looked at the kits yesterday but they reckon you need a book to assemble them with which none where is stock lol, can't win. Can I be rude and ask what that is below the led's?

    Yeah the DickSmith funway book 2 is needed, bought it back awhile ago. I could scan the circuit diagram if you wanted it.

    You mean that black square in the corner? It's an on/off switch.
