Thread: Kandalf, The Grey

  1. Default Kandalf, The Grey

    Hello again,

It has been a while since my last post. Meanwhile, a lot of things happened to my Kandalf LCS.

I hereby post this update to show you TT people what it's possible to do with a Thermaltake Full-Tower Case if you are willing to perform a few cuttings through a most loved TT and to spend around 500 in watercooling and modding components.

If you are not in the mood for modding your case, this post will show you what NOT to do. lol

I've upgraded a lot of stuff, which left me with the impression that was in need for a better (I mean, a "larger") watercooling system.

For the time being, I set one watercooling loop only but, once I get all the components, I'll set 2 loops. The loop flows from Rad. 1 -> Pump -> CPU -> Mosfets -> Gfx -> Rad. 2

    Here are my systems' specs:

    System Components:
    1x Intel i7 920 C0 @ 4000Mhz
    1x Gigabyte EX58-UD5 (X58-EXTREME F11 BIOS)

    1x EK-FC 4870 CF WaterBlock costumized to fit the 4890 Vapor-X
    1x Kit EK-FB GAX58 WaterBlocks for Motherboard
    1x 360mm Thermaltake radiator
    1x 360mm BI Stealth X-Flow radiator
1x Laing MCP355 pump (the Kandalf LCS' P500 12v pump will power up a 2nd loop)
    1x EK-DDC X-TOP rev.2 Plexi
    1x Danger Den Plexi E/S 1/2" reservoir
    4x A.C. Ryan UV 120mm

    1x Acrylic window 5mm* (35cm*31cm)
    1x Acrylic window 3mm* (48cm*44cm)
    1x 24 white leds strip
1x Neon Revoltec Kit Single UV 30cm
1x Vinil costumized with artwork (45cm*40cm)

    Peripherals:
    Monitor(s) ASUS VH226H + Samsung LCD TV Series 6 LE40B650
    Mouse Roccat Kone

    I hope you liked.

Please, feel free to coment the project and to tell what's in your mind. Your opinions are valuable to me and may help me to realise new things about modding, hardware and watercooling. Also, to figure out the best way to set the dual loop I want to set, etc.

    Thanx

Nice work, Johnny! Very sexy. I love the attention to detail and the aforementioned cleanliness. I have an older (Mozart TX) case and there's just no where to hide all the darn cables like that. Great job!

@phillywood...very nicely done as well, especially if that's your first build!
