I was going to get these coolermaster fans
    http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...tby=14&order=1

    with this case

So i was wondering if these would shine through the front grill well?

BTW, this is my first post, I have been looking around for a while and it seems like a nice place.

Welcome to the forums! Hope you decide to stick around

    As for the light question:

Yes, you will be able to see SOME lights from behind the case front. Take note that it won't be shining through like a spot light.

Assuming you're not using black foam filters on your fan (which you should ideally be using filtration on intake fans), the amount of light given by the LED's in the fan will produce a blue glow in the dark.

I've got an internal red antec LED fan (aluminum filter) on an antec SX1030 case with a red cold cathode fan and I can look down and see some light coming from mine.

If you're looking for some big lights, you might check out CrazyPC's lighting section. Their EL tape, and superbright LED's will light up just about anything. Of course that would require you do dabble in the case modification section :D

We'll help ya with that too if you need it!

    :) Thanks

Well case modding is fine with me; in fact I was planning on putting a window into the cheiftec once some more money comes my way.

(I'm currently saving up for my new 700 dollar computer, have 450 so far)

Well, I think i'll get it then maybe get some of the laser LEDs later.

    NICE!!!

Thanks man. I'm going to do that, and then in a little bit after I get my system going to get a Laser LED or two for in the front.

Just wondering, What do you use to make a side panel window?

    How much is it?

Is it hard to make one? like just design it, cut it, and then attach the clear material to the backside of the side panel?

I have another question (sorry so many)

For a fan filter, it would block any light coming through it right?

Question 1) There are many commerically available window kits, with various methods of mounting. Check the main page of this site for some companies. The window I put in my wife's computer was 1/8 plex I picked up at Lowes and I cut the opening using a hydraulic hole puller for the corners and then a jig saw for the rest. A lot of the more talented modders (the ones with lots of time and patience) use a dremel. If you use the jig saw be sure to support the cut as close to the edge as possible! Otherwise the side will "oilcan" ie flex and scew up the cut. I trimed the hole with some plastic auto edge trim purchased at Pep Boys and then held the plex in with clear silicon caulk (very unconvensional). Most people use a type of double sided tape if the are not using the window mold material. On a side note, I just rough cut the plex to the whole size, because it is more of a pain to cut than I realized!!

Question 2) Depending on the density or thickness of the filter you will notice a mjor loss of light intencity. If you are looking for a whole lot of light, just be ready to clean the innerds every now & then.

Hoped this helped a little!:D I've just started this hobby myself. Oh ya, when you say laser do you mean one of those little jobbies with 3 (or more) high output leds? If so I also have one in the wife's box and it does right well.;)

It seems more complicated than I had hoped :( I think i'll just buy the panel and then drill holes for the fans.

yea, when I said laser I meant on of those little 3 light things.

Wiggo, do you have any filter on those fans in the front?

Nope no filter's as Enermax's version of UNEEC's chassis isn't fitted with them but the perforated filter in the Antec version of UNEEC's chassis wouldn't stop to much of the light (I have both these versions).

Oh BTW for all UNEEC case versions (small mid, large mid and full towers) pre-made windowed side panels can be obtained in a range of window sizes. ;)
