okay so i just ordered a barton 2800+ and..well heres the rest of the sys..

    barton 2800+
    Asus A7N8X mobo
    512mb Samsung DDr400 pc(3200) x2 (for the dual pipeline)
    ati radeon 9500 pro
480 watt antec tru blue power supply
    antec case etc...

okay well heres the problem, well actually im not sure if its a problem..i plan to do a bit of overclocking on my barton and i ordered a volcano 9 cuz the 11's were out of stock and i figured there basically the same thing since there nearly the same price.

well now ive read around (which i should have done first) and im seeing that maybe this wasnt so good of an idea

well i would like to know if this was a good/bad idea? and will this let me overclock a fair amount? and will this even work with my system cuz i read the thing on the website and it says supports up to 2600+ :o at this point i am scared and if anyone can support me on this choice, or tell me im a f**king idiot, any input would be greatly appreciated thanx guys

It is unlikely that it will cause harm to your system if you keep it at default speeds, but I wouldn't go too high with the speed using that cooler. There are a lot of good coolers out there in the same price range.

Actually the 9 is nothin' like the 11 and a "7+" would've been much better (the 9 is just a fan upgraded 7, alloy/copper combo, and the 7+ and 11 are full copper).

Well it's not that ya stuffed up but ya could've done better though the 9 is much better than the retail HSF.

While you're statement is in essence true, the cost of the Thermalright units tends to go rather high. Thermaltake gives a very good compromise between cost and performance.

Yes Thermalright is basically 2x the price of Thermaltake here without the fan. :wow:
