After 2 weeks of a heatwave, it's become aparent that there is no cooling solution for 30c+ in the house with the a/c cranked 24/7. Unless there is a refrigeration solution, oc'ing can't be done with these temps. With no a/c, the temp would be 45c+ in the house. Fsb speeds had to be reduced to stock, as well as gfx. So much for canucks living in igloos.

Water cooling is designed to keep your processor at near ambient temperatures and phase change cooling goes under the zero degree mark as it uses a compressor like those used in a small refrigerator.

I have the exact same problem. I don't know the exact temp of my room, but my case temp gets up to about 45c on rather hot days. I'm to cheap to buy a window AC unit and then spend $200 or electricity.

Or you could take that same $200 and get a decent water cooler and have your system running at the 45C room temperature... which is perfectly acceptable in hot conditions; and at a fraction of the electricity draw!

Great idea Darth, good thing about a socket 370, takes the same coolers as athlon xp. So no rebuying after upgrade. But I'm really broke :( , hence the celeron. I think I can live with it for a few more days anyway. But 400mhz is quite extreme for an air cooled oc anyway. 33% is like trying to get 4gig out of a 3gig p4.
