When I am installing the heatsink on a socket 478 motherbord, is there some liquid that goes there before i put it on, or i just mount it on?

Put a thermal conductive compound between the proc and the heatsink for the best heat transfer... Artic Silver 3 is highly recommended.

The last time i built a computer, i remember that i had to put some thermal paste on my cpu before i put the heatsink and fan on. I think you get it free with the heatsink and fan.

    :wow: EEK! :wow:

Stay away from that default garbage unless you have absolutely nothing else at hand and you are using it only as a temporary solution. Considering that these junk compounds are just a means to keep lawsuits to a minimum, you can realistically expect to see more than a 5 degree Celsius difference when using a quality thermal inteface material.

I just switched to AS3 3 days ago. So far theres been a 2 degrees celcius drop. From 41 to 39, this is the temps when running F@H. I read the site and it said there is a "break-in period" which last for 200 hours. What temps am I expecting to see when this period is over? If running at the same room temps and all will I see a great drop in temps?
