I recently switched to the Tt Silent Boost. Considering the noise level, it's the best HSF I've ever owned. It's not the best cooler out there, but it does a damn fine job. My CPU never gets above 40 C with a slightly warm room temp (which will get much cooler as winter sets in). That's with F@H running 24/7. My case fans (med. speed 35 cfm 80 mm) are louder than this baby.

EDIT: this is also on an overclocked 2100+ (paly core) so it should cool like a champ on a barton
I've gone too far and need to move on!

your best bet, if you want to get rid of fan noise, is to buy a fan controller for a 5.25" or 3.5" bay and use that. They can control 3 or 4 case fans (depending on which, 3.5" has 3, 5.25" has 4) and you can put them at w/e noise/cooling compromise setting you wish. Good luck with it, : peace2: Mista K6
    Modified Dell 8200 Case:
    -400MHz FSB i850 Intel mobo
    -P4 Williamette Socket 478, 1.9GHz
    -768MB 16-bit PC800 RDRAM
    -MSI GF4 Ti4200 128MB @ 284/581
    -7200 RPM Maxtors: 60GB (2MB) on mobo and 160GB (8MB) on ATA/133 PCI Card
-Creative Inspire T7700 7.1 Speaker System on an Audigy 2
    -Windows XP Home Edition SP2

The Zalman fan controller has 6 channels, and IMHO is the best quality fanbus I've used or seen. :thumb: You can also put more than one fan per channel in parallel.
