    Just a quick question.

What should an athlon 1700 xp running temperature be at both idle and under load. Please provide average temperatures for a standard cooling system.

    Cheers

There is no 'average' when you talk about temps, because everyone will have a totally different range, depending on where they are, what the area around the PC is like, etc...

Also, how do you define a 'standard' cooling system? :D

Well a standard HSF **** I forget the brand but it moves 38cfm.

My CPU runs at 55C idle and about 61C under load. should I be worried?

    Cheers

umm.. sounds like you definitely need to think about some better cooling there... that's just a little too warm to keep running your computer at....

Have you got any case fans or anything moving the air through your case? Do you leave the sides on or off?

My XP1700+ very rarely gets above 34C - but I'm using an Alpha PAL8045 w/an 80cfm Delta fan
