Default Does this work with Socket A?

I mean, I would think so, being for athlon XP, but never hurts to make sure.

I need to get a heatsink soon, my factory default is making crackling sounds, and MBM5 is telling me that the cpu diode is running at 105 deg F and the socket at 95. If anyone is willing to tell me a better heatsink for a 2200+ is, go right ahead. I'm looking to spend between 20 to 50 bucks.

    Yes it does.

Giving your temps in degrees C would be a better option here (105F is approx. 41C) as this is spose to be an "international forum" where most of the world uses the metric system but that's a good temp to be at if the CPU is under load and if not then run Prime95 and then report the temps that that generates (btw adding the room temp as well can be of help).
