Ok, time to buy a new heatsink....

ive narrowed it down between the

    Thermaltake Volcano 9
    Swiftech MCX462-U
Zalman Flower CNPS6000-CU 'Silent' CPU Cooler
    Coolermaster HHC-L61 Silent Super Heat-Pipe

ive already got a zalman on my server that is extremly quiet which i love becuase i have 4 computers and althought there not all on at once i would like to have them all on without to much noise.... i have got rid of most noise from 2 so on with my xp2000 machine

i would like it to have the best cooling but also be able to go down to quiet mode when im just idleing along ? the zalman is good but can it handle the temps when they get high (on a xp 2000)? like a few hours gaming....

the thermal take sound sok becuase theres so much adjustability on the fan and it goes right down to 17db, likewise the zlaman is quiet and i have got a quiet 80mm fan for the switctech if i get it... the other was just a sujestion..

    thanks for any advice :)

The Swiftech will be the coolest but requires you to remove the motherboard to mount the stand-offs for the heatsink. Noise factor for this cooler will depend on what fan you install since it doesn't come with one. Some folks have been having some luck with the Thermaltake Smart Case Fan II since it has adjustable speed settings. I'll be able to let you know how well this works within the next week or so since I'll be testing the MCX462+ cooler with this very fan... and probably a 80mm x 80mm x 38mm Delta screamer also. :)

I would think that the Volcano 7+ should be on that list as well. But, with good cooling comes a price; Noise. The noisier it is the better cooling it will give (generally speaking).
New Sig soon, old one was way outdated.
