I want to get a baybus, and I was wondering if I can use speaker wire as "extensions" for the fan wires (to get the wires to the baybus) ? If not, any suggestions ?

    Any thoughts ?

you should be able to, just as long as the wire isn't too small (diameter)

Like the man said, it depends on the gauge of the wire.
At an automotive store you can usually find prepackaged rolls of wire of 10' lengths or so for not much money. And different colors too - which can avoid confusion.

But yeah, if the conductor of the speaker wire is of the same diameter as the fan wires --- go for it.

UPDATE: I got the 6 port baybus ! I'm using 22AWG stranded wire as my "extensions" which by the way are 3ft. long... You'd be suprised how long the wire needs to be for a clean install. Colors used are RED & BLACK, so there won't be any confusion.
