Some v/c's have monitoring built in but not many so a probe will be needed and the cheapest of these would be the CompuNurse. ;)

If the card has monitoring then it would have come with software to access it so if it didn't then it likely has any so hardware is all ya can do and the CompuNurse is very cheap and accurate, oh and did I mention that it's cheap? :)
