I just oced my xp2100 and it runs pretty hot with the side panel on.(temp goes up to almost 50c under load) I currently have one intake fan at the front bottom(80mm) a 80mm exhaust on the side, ps has an intake fan and exhaust fan and a 60mm exhaust in the back. CPU fan is volcano 9. Any suggestions on how to cool this bad boy some more?

Firstly.......the fan in the bottom front doesn't really surve as intake because unless there was a giant outlet in the front of the chassis its not gonna pull much air through the case....

Secondly your exaust fan on the side make that an intake. Side panel fans work the best. Where exactly is the side fan located? Is it located near or above the CPU? Or more toward the bottom?

More towards the bottom. It blows right on the memory almost. I had it at intake and changed it to exhaust and it seemed to work better that way... Should I take the intake one off the front? There is a HUGE difference in the cooling with the side on and off almost 10 degrees. :(

What I'd do if I was you (keep in mind this is what I'd do heh, you might not wanna do it) is I'd go to my trusty hardware store and find some metal, with little holes in it. Then, I'd cut out on the front, right where the fan is located; and stick that bit of metal in that area (looks presentable, and lets air come in nice 'n dandy)... and see how that helps.

The fan in the lower front without Suicides modifications does almost nothing except for sound levels. Ya I still have mine in front but oh well. I have so many fans that its helping somewhat. But really has no effect on cooling.

That side panel fan you HAVE to make intake. Look at what you said when you said you have the side panel off. Almost 10 degrees differenence. That's because cool air is flowing into the case freely. Now if you were to have a blow hole on the side panel free flowing air will flow through that blow hole on a directed spot. This is basically the same thing with fans. Except fans force the issue creating a more intense breeze?

I havn't actually done that :) On my case (enermax cs-3061L) has the power/reset switch right there... I would do it and rewire the power and reset buttons to another spot on the front of the case, but... Since I'm in the middle of building a new case from scratch, I'm just gonna leave it as it is.

I really dont want to cut a hole in it. I bought this case with a blue acrylic front becuase i liked the way it looked and dont want to mess it up by chopping it up.

here's a "traditional" case flow diagram I made real quick. It's really close to how I have mine (I dont' have a good picture of mine, so I pulled this pic from the net and did some quick photoshop on it), and my cpu temp stays around high 30's - low 40's. My case temp can get as low as 22. Hope this helps... :thumb:
