How's 185cfm of air into the case and 178cfm out sound? :?:

Well for starters the SMART FAN II's alone were gettin' the neighbours to call the cops because of the noise and when these were turfed for 102cfm in and 98cfm out my temps dropped 3C for the system and 5C for the CPU.

I run a Barton at 1.725 V and overclocked to 2.276 GHz and my temp right now is only 24 C for the CPU. Of course I'm only running air with dual fans for the CPU/HS, and they don't run that fast.. as we leave my computer on 24/7 and it's in our bedroom.

I think the ducting probably baffles some of the fan noise.:D

To see this ducting ..... http://forums.tweaktown.com/showthre...?threadid=9308

    That one is "slightly" variable.

If the temp is 24 C at idle the temp under full load is 26 C.

If the temp is 18 to 20 C at idle it only rises 1 degree C.

If the temp is 30 degree C at idle it rises to 32 degree C under full load.

When it's below 20C I've noticed it hard to make it even rise any even if you load it up. I believe that is because everything now, inside the case is cold.

Also, the reason for the variable temps is that: since I am using outside cold air, directly over the CPU fan, then the COLDER it is outside, the colder my cpu gets. When the outside temp raises to above what it is, in the house, then I pull the duct out of the window and drop it down to the AC duct on the floor and it cools from there. Higest I've seen so far with this set up is only 36 C under load.

Right now as I send this message the outside air temp is 49.3 F, and my cpu temp is 25.

I also have a copper cooler HS on my VIA southbridge.:D

PS NOTE: I started this ductwork thing at the end of our winter. Since it's introduction we have not had that real cold like we had back in December and January. Even at that, one night it got down to 26 degree F outside and my CPU temp went down to 16 C. It was even chilly to be around the computer then as the exhaust air from that 120mm fan was kind of cold. I am wondering next winter when outside air temps come down to 0 F to 5 degree above 0 Farenheight, what the CPU temp will be then??

Yes atm even my XP2600+ @ 2.26GHz under 100% load is at 32C with both the system and room temp at 16C though my XP1800+ @ 2GHz under 100% load is 25C and both have their Volcano 7+'s on low speed (don't ya just gotta love the colder part of the year?). :D

I especially closed the shop off from the rest of the house (26C in there with the fire goin') and let the fresh mountian air in but usually it's a fairly constant 20C in here ( sure beats fryin' in Sydney I can tell ya's).

BTW the XP2600+ is currently at 39C with the system at 21C and room temp at 20C though my XP1800+ is still only at 32C. :D
